Sometimes you need to make choices which others might don’t understand. Choices which don’t seem logical or wise from an outside perspective, but make totally sense for you.
I recently made such a choice by quitting my podcast, while I just started in January of this year.
Why would you do that?!
About a month ago there was a moment where I had to ask myself I still wanted to do my podcast. It’s very important for me to only commit to the things that I really want to do and by asking myself that question, I realized that I actually didn’t want to do it anymore. When I thought of quitting it, I felt liberated.
At first, it felt very stupid to make such a choice as quitting it. I mean, it didn’t take that much time and effort to record episodes, business wise it’s good to have a podcast, I could easily schedule my recordings and I had lots of topics to talk about.
From those perspectives there was no reason to quit. It made me doubt about the choice I was about to make.
But I realized why I started this podcast in the first place was no longer a reason to have a podcast. My podcast was a way for me to put myself out in the world. To share my vision, story and insights… Back then, the easiest way for me to do that was to make audio recordings.
Now I found different ways to share what I want to share, which feels good to me right now. I write a lot and I started creating videos. Starting my podcast helped me to open something up in myself. It made me able to grow in this whole process and got me to this is turning point.
I don’t need my podcast anymore for the reason I started it and I also don’t want to do it anymore. At least, for now.
I say for now, because there might come a point that I want to start doing it again. Maybe in a different form or with guests or something… I don’t know. We’ll see what happens!
Those reasons to continue will still be there. But what I learned is that I only need to do the things that I really want to do. That’s when I’m at my best, most creative and most powerful. My highest value is freedom and that’s where I’m coming from in creating my life and business. I need to feel free inside to be able to create anything I want.
Make the choices that serve you the most. Even if others don’t understand and even if it looks like it doesn’t make sense. If it makes sense for you, make the choice and stand behind it.
It’s often not easy. But when you choose what’s best for you, you will be able to create anything.
What choices do you need to make?
Let me know! I’d love to hear from you.
