I believe there is no limit in learning. We can always keep on learning and improving ourselves, which is pretty fascinating if you ask me!
Allowing yourself to be a forever student gives you the opportunity to create way more than seeing yourself as the finished master. You stay open for learning and new things, even if you are already a master in who you are and what you do.
Somehow when we become grown-ups, have certain titles or our own business, we often think we have to prove that we have it all figured out. Pretty weird actually, when you think about that.
A while ago I came across a post from Tom Bilyeu. The words he wrote were so on point, that I saved it.
“When people are kids they get that they are a work in progress, but for some reason that I do not understand, once we’re adults we see ourselves as the end product.
That just isn’t true. No matter how old you are, you’re still a work in progress – still capable of massive change and improvement.”
I love this.
We can always improve who we are, how we show up, what we create and build our skills or learn even new ones. There is no limit!
What helps for me is going back to showing up as a beginner on a regular basis. Because when you are a beginner, you are eager to learn. You keep on trying and seeking ways to get better in what you do and what you want to learn.
Even if I hear things for the second, third or hundredth time, I can listen to it as if I hear it for the first time. I can get new insights, new learnings and see new possibilities from it. That’s not possible when you show up as a master who already knows everything. There is always a lesson or an insight you can implement in your life or business right now.
It’s enlightening and liberating to show up as a student. It gives space to play, explore and figure things out. It gives space to experiment and fail in the name of learning and figuring out.
Show up as a student. Show up as a beginner. Be hungry to learn.
When you’re a beginner, everything is new and exciting. Anything is possible. As a beginner, you don’t have know everything already.
And what if you would look at everything you do as an experiment?
It takes away a lot of pressure.
Sounds pretty awesome, right?!
Be a student. Keep on learning. 😉
